Garmin eTrex 20 User Review
I just purchased a Garmin eTrex 20 handheld GPS (released in late September 2011) and I decided to do a quick user review of it. This is my first GPS device, which means I can't do a relative comparison with other units. So, based on its own merits, here are my comments on the eTrex 20: 1. Build quality is solid, and when loaded with batteries it has a nice, reassuring heft to it. Dark grey areas are rubberized for wear resistance. USB connection is hidden under a rubber weather-resistant flap, and the micro-SD slot is protected inside the battery compartment, which are thoughtful design features. 2. The glassy LCD screen is tad reflective when viewed under direct sunlight. 3. Ability to decode both GPS and GLONASS satellite signals is a very useful feature. In the field, it takes less than a minute to get a position fix, and the precision is quite good, around 4 metres at best. 4. It works well inside vehicles too, I've tried it in buses and get practically instantaneous position and speed readings. It will definitely work as a car GPS, though that is not its intended function.
Garmin StreetPilot for iPhone – Review
We test Garmin's popular GPS navigation software on an iPhone 4. This SatNav app can also be used on an iPad 3G in compatibility mode, but is optimized for use on the iPhone 4 retina display. A cellular data connection is required, so iPod Touch users will need a cradle with a GPS module and some sort of mifi device to get this to work. Logitech Revue (Google TV) Review
More: www.amazon.com At a press conference today, Logitech revealed the full details of its upcoming Logitech Revue with Google TV, a set-top box that aims to integrate all of your content--from your cable box to YouTube--to a single unified interface. The Revue is set to come out at the end of October with a 0 list price, and preorders begin today. The Revue will be one of the first products, along with Sony's forthcoming TV, to integrate the new Google TV platform. Here's a preview of what it can do. Google TV software The highlight of the device is, of course, Google TV. The basic pitch for Google TV is the ability to search all of your TV content through a search bar similar to Google.com. The bar overlays whatever screen you're on and combs through online video sources as well as live TV from your cable/satellite box to find content (currently, Google TV only searches DVR programs for Dish DVRs, although a Logitech representative told us he expects compatibility with non-Dish DVRs to roll out over time). The idea is that you don't need to know whether the video originates from Netflix, your cable box, YouTube, or a random Web site--Google just finds it. For launch, the Revue/Google TV software has support for several streaming-media services, including YouTube, Amazon VOD, Netflix, Pandora, and Napster. Google announced partnerships with TBS, TNT, CNN, and HBO, which take the form of customized Web sites and, in the case of HBO, access to HBO Go's service for ...

GARMIN NUVI 265WT vs. MIO MOOV 200 AUTO GPS ROAD TEST REVIEW OF GARMIN
Click 'more info'. At the outset, I've no affiliation or interest in Garmin or Mio. Note that after I entered the Garmin traffic map I forgot to switch back to regular map display, which is a more detailed and attractive color display. I also should've pressed button for 'Traffic On Route' and you would've seen language there was 'no traffic' on my particular route. Click on my video response to this one which covers the Traffic Reporting function in greater detail. For this video, I had the Garmin screen brightness down to 50% (default)-should've had it at 100% but I forgot about it. I've had it lower than 50% (default) and the display is just fine, so if using the unit without the charger you can save battery life. Do note that Garmin does NOT recommend use of a screen protector for this GPS. This Garmin Nuvi 265WT comes with FREE Lifetime Traffic Reporting for so long as you have your unit and Garmin subscribes to the service. The Free Traffic and Bluetooth were major selling points for me. However, I still also enjoy my Mio Moov 200 which is considerably less expensive and was my first auto GPS. But the Garmin is definitely more user-friendly/intuitive and the touchpad is definitely better; the Moov 200 commands small fingers or use of a stylus for the touchpad; surprisingly, the Moov is a slightly better navigator when 'push comes to shove', IMHO, and it 'appears' to lock on satellites faster, But the Garmin matches the Moov and indeed has a Distance to Go (to the ...
