This is a quick video I put together for showing how to create a custom map using Google Earth and exporting it as a KMZ file for loading into my Garmin 62st.

I downloaded and installed both Google maps, and the Modaco hack. Turned on comm 4 and was able to use the GPS for about 20 minutes. Now everytime I try to serach for sattelites, it tells me that I need a data plan. Why did it work for me at first, and not now ? Can I use it without a data plan ?

I am trying to find an oil field in the middle of nowhere. The active rig database gives a current location of SWSE 19-155N-90W. I am trying to put it into google maps but it cant read it. I looked up GPS coordinates and they don't look anything like it. So I am wondering how to read this?

Two decades ago, you could buy a Sinclair ZX81 computer for under 0. Now you can get a much more capable "Netbooklet" for that price. Also known as the TinyBook, SmartBook, or Wireless Book, this is the 7-inch Sylvania Netbook, running Windows CE 6.0 on an ARM-compatible VIA 8505 CPU. It has built-in Wireless G connectivity, and has basic Internet functionality, including the ability to view YouTube videos. Normal PC applications will not run on it, but if you look hard enough, you can find software for Windows CE (whose interface will remind you a lot of Windows 95). Users have also reported some success in installing Linux or the Google Android operating system.
